Shahid Afridi slaughtering Malinga Bandara
Shahid Afridi scored 32 runs in an over off Malinga Bandara.
BOOM BOOM AFRIDI!!! ONCE AGAIN.
446666
This is only second to Herchelle Gibb's six sixes in an over. Pakistan won the match easily and Shahid was declared man of the match.

What a catch?
A great catch by the big man from Bermuda. What a catch?
Simply awesome!
Look at the celebration after the catch. Great! Robin Utthapa is gone but more than that the catch is great. What a catch by the huge man? A great example that your body size does not matter if you are agile enough to pull out those extraordinary fielding moments. Leverock is probabaly one of the most famous cricketers in this 2007 World Cup

Six Sixes in an over
Herchelle Gibbs made a record in ODIs by being the first and currently the only to score six sixes in six balls of an over.
Yes he did it against minnow Netherlands but still you got to hit every damn ball fly over the rope which is amazing. In this match South Africa mad 354 in just 40 overs, the maximum overs allocated to the match due to delayed start. Let's see what other world cup amuses we got to see.
Catches from World Cup 96
A rare but great compilation of catches from 1996 Cricket World Cup held in the subcontinent. As you should know, it was won by Sri-Lanka. Can they once again repeat the feat in 2007? We have to wait and see but this great compilation is worthy of reliving the experience anytime as one of the great cricket videos. Enjoy

Shane Warne Hat Trick
A great Hat Trick by Shane Warne, one of the greatest all time bowler in the history of cricket.
How could he miss that?
What a miss? Seemingly easy runout missed perhaps due to over excitement. Made a mess at the end with all his team mates staring at him but things like this happen which gives a bit of worry to the viewers supporting the fielding team while tickle with joy the rest of the viewers.
Catches Win Matches
A great catch from Maharoof of the second last ball of the innings helped Sri Lanka pull a great but close win against India in the 2007 series. India required six runs to win of the last two ball of the game when Sanath Jayasuriya was bowling to Mahendra Singh Dhoni. It looked very likely that India win but the great catch from Maharoof running away deserved the winning tag and was the difference in the end.
India did well to come back in the series and did well overall with good performance from Saurav Ganguly in his comeback before the 2007 World Cup.
Fastest Twenty Twenty fifty by Sanath
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKupKanY-oE
This is a nice video of agressive Sanath. Woo..he is very aggressive in a normal 50 over match, imagine in a twenty twenty. Very good to watch though.
He made 51 of just 23 deliveries. It is likely to change as more 20-20s are played but Sanath did enough to get his team to win. Although the game was affected by rain, Sanath's quick mustering of New Zealand bowlers made Sri Lanka the winner through Duckworth Lewis rule.

Gary Sober hit six sixes in an over
One of the greatest cricketers, Sir Garfield Sobers of West Indies is the first and the one of only two batsmen who have scored six sixes in an over in a first class match. In 1968, playing as captain of Nottinghamshire against Glamorgan in Swansea, he set the world record of the bowling of Malcolm Nash.
The other record holder is Ravi Shastri of India, who did that later in 1984 playing for Bombay.

New Zealand Clean Sweep
I tend not to put matches on this blog, rather I focus to put great cricketing moments of the past. However, this great clean sweep by New Zealand forced my attention.
Would this be the downfall of the Aussies? Or will they come back strong with Ponting in the world cup? We will have to see but certainly Aussies seem to have lost some balance in the team. Other teams like South Africa, New Zealand, India have a perfect chance to sneak away the highest trophy in world cup this spring in the Caribbean.
Anyway, let's hope for a great cricket world cup 2007, whoever wins.

Throw it away
Let's see some funny fielding. Spoiling a chance of a runout and gifting the opponent with a four. How is that? Hurting in two ways. The ball seems to have slip from the fielder's hand but no excuses for professional players; you may lose the game for it.

Will we see another Tendulkar World Cup Special?
Tendulkar scored a great not out century of the last ball of the innings against West Indies. A bit of luck towards the end to get him to the magical three figures but overall it was a very fine performance by the little master.
Tendulkar fans, there are quite a few around the world, are hoping for another Sachin World Cup special as he had shown in 1996 and 2003. Definitely Tendulkar will be trying to do that and after his recent 41st century it is more likely that will happen. Still to see how he does against Sri Lanka before the world cup and not to forget that he is playing in India and the world cup is in West Indies, I sense something special from him before he retires--a Tendulkar season. I hope that will be the World Cup.

Cricket Hurts
This is not funny at all. Cricket can be very entertaining but one should not forget the risk the players bear and the commitment they give. Hats off to the players. Someone compiled a good video of hurting cricket moments. Be careful!
Sachin Ducks
Glen McGrath getting Sachin leg before out for a ball that Sachin thought would bounce more and hence ducked down, only to get duck out. That seemed a bit controvertial because it hit Tendulkar on the shoulder but as Sachin was literally on the ground and the ball had not bounce much, it was a good decision.
Tendulkar's First Test Century Against Australia
The great Sachin Tendulkar's first ton against the mighty Aussies when he was very young. His agression and swiftness might have reduced now but still he is the most elegant of all cricketer. That is why he is the most popular cricketer.
Dhoni Controversial Runout against WI
Brain Lara losts his composure when his fielder's assertion that he had cleanly caught the ball inside the rope was not completely accepted and the benefit of doubt was given to Dhoni to continue playing. The environment created was not good for cricket. Dravid declared and also Dhone was given out as he accepted the fielder's assertion to end the controversy.
Sachin Bowls Moin Khan
Sachin Tendulkar sometimes sparks with magic with the ball. He bowled Moin Khan of the last ball of the day in a Test Series in Pakistan. Moin Khan was totally decieved by Sachin's googly.
India won the game by an innings and 52 runs. Sehway made the record 309 runs on the same test, with sachin scoring 194 and 60 not out on the two innings respectively. Dravid declared when Tendulkar was playing on 194. There were some media talks about the issue as well.
Jonty Rhodes' Famous Run Out of Inzamam
The two players featured here are involved in a number of runouts. Jonty is involved in running the opponent out and Inzamam in running out himself and his partner. Here Jonty runs a long distance and slams the stumps to get Inzi out.
Sachin At Sarjhah Final 1998
Sachin Tendulkar was at his peak when he produced some of the best innings of his life in the year 1998. In the 1998 Coca Cola Cup final, India beat Australia to win the cup. Sachin hit brilliant hundreds in the semi-final and the final of the tournament, both against the Australian team.
Sachin holds the record for most one day runs in a calendar year with 1894 runs in 1998. He scored 9 one day centuries in the same year which is also the highest number of centuries by a player in a calendar year.
Mark Taylor Kick Catch
A great catch by Marck Taylor. He actually misses at the first attempt, however recovers well by somehow kicking the ball and being able to catch it. A bit of luck that the ball came to his hands but surely a great presence of mind and great piece of fielding.
Inzamam Hit Wicket
Inzamam has been involved in quite a few runouts and is know for not being a swift runner between the wickets but this is another funny part of Inzi, getting hit wicket out to Monty Panesar. Ohhhh! the spinner was too fast for Inzi.
