What a catch?

A great catch by the big man from Bermuda. What a catch?
Simply awesome!
Look at the celebration after the catch. Great! Robin Utthapa is gone but more than that the catch is great. What a catch by the huge man? A great example that your body size does not matter if you are agile enough to pull out those extraordinary fielding moments. Leverock is probabaly one of the most famous cricketers in this 2007 World Cup

Six Sixes in an over

Herchelle Gibbs made a record in ODIs by being the first and currently the only to score six sixes in six balls of an over.

Yes he did it against minnow Netherlands but still you got to hit every damn ball fly over the rope which is amazing. In this match South Africa mad 354 in just 40 overs, the maximum overs allocated to the match due to delayed start. Let's see what other world cup amuses we got to see.

Catches from World Cup 96

A rare but great compilation of catches from 1996 Cricket World Cup held in the subcontinent. As you should know, it was won by Sri-Lanka. Can they once again repeat the feat in 2007? We have to wait and see but this great compilation is worthy of reliving the experience anytime as one of the great cricket videos. Enjoy

Fastest World Cup Century

Watch this magnificent world cup centruy by John Davidson of Canada in World Cup 2003 against West Indies. It is still the fastest century in World Cup history. He reached his century in just 67 balls.

The end of his innings was only possible by a great catch by Drakes, with a one hand backward diving catch.

Shane Warne Hat Trick

A great Hat Trick by Shane Warne, one of the greatest all time bowler in the history of cricket.

Great Catch by Ponting

Ricky Ponting is one of the best fielders in world cricket. His aggressive batting, good captaincy, and great fielding ability have made him one of the best cricketers of his time.

This is a very elegant and praiseworthy catch. Hats off Ricky.

How could he miss that?

What a miss? Seemingly easy runout missed perhaps due to over excitement. Made a mess at the end with all his team mates staring at him but things like this happen which gives a bit of worry to the viewers supporting the fielding team while tickle with joy the rest of the viewers.

Catches Win Matches

A great catch from Maharoof of the second last ball of the innings helped Sri Lanka pull a great but close win against India in the 2007 series. India required six runs to win of the last two ball of the game when Sanath Jayasuriya was bowling to Mahendra Singh Dhoni. It looked very likely that India win but the great catch from Maharoof running away deserved the winning tag and was the difference in the end.

India did well to come back in the series and did well overall with good performance from Saurav Ganguly in his comeback before the 2007 World Cup.

Fastest Twenty Twenty fifty by Sanath

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKupKanY-oE
This is a nice video of agressive Sanath. Woo..he is very aggressive in a normal 50 over match, imagine in a twenty twenty. Very good to watch though.

He made 51 of just 23 deliveries. It is likely to change as more 20-20s are played but Sanath did enough to get his team to win. Although the game was affected by rain, Sanath's quick mustering of New Zealand bowlers made Sri Lanka the winner through Duckworth Lewis rule.

Gary Sober hit six sixes in an over

One of the greatest cricketers, Sir Garfield Sobers of West Indies is the first and the one of only two batsmen who have scored six sixes in an over in a first class match. In 1968, playing as captain of Nottinghamshire against Glamorgan in Swansea, he set the world record of the bowling of Malcolm Nash.

The other record holder is Ravi Shastri of India, who did that later in 1984 playing for Bombay.
